“Princess Bride” Creator Rob Reiner Found Slain

The man who brought the fairy tale world of The Princess Bride to life has been found dead. Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele, 68, were discovered in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, victims of an apparent stabbing. The LAPD is investigating the deaths as a homicide and is currently questioning a family member.
The discovery was made in the afternoon by firefighters responding to a medical call. Inside the Brentwood residence, they found the couple deceased. The police quickly secured the scene, and homicide detectives began their work.
Reiner’s career was one of extraordinary success. He directed a string of hits that defined a generation, including This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, and A Few Good Men. His earlier acting career saw him win two Emmys for his role in All in the Family.
Michele Reiner, a photographer, was his partner in every sense. They met on the set of When Harry Met Sally and were married for 35 years. Their deaths have shocked the city, with Mayor Karen Bass calling it a “devastating loss.”
As the investigation focuses on a family member, the public is left to wonder how such a tragedy could befall such a beloved couple. The police are continuing their inquiries, hoping to provide answers to a grieving community.
