The growing trend for sea salt, Himalayan salt, and other artisanal varieties is driven by the myth that they are better for you than classic table salt. Endorsements from chefs and foodies bolster this belief.
But the difference lies primarily in appearance and flavor, not health. The additional minerals in premium salts are so minute they’re virtually irrelevant; real nutrition comes from balanced meals.
Excess sodium—whatever the source—remains the health villain. Most people consume well above the recommended daily maximum, with much of it sneaking into our diets through processed foods.
Tackle this issue by gradually reducing all salt in your meals and reading food labels. Your organs will thank you, regardless of the kind of crystals you use.
